While it may seem too much like a statement colour for some, when applied on the skin, purple blush blends into a dark warm pink. While this shade suits all skin tones, it complements darker shades of skin exceptionally well.

• Siren Eyes

The Smokey Eye of the 90s is perhaps what comes closest to capturing the hold the Siren Eyes trend had on the makeup community. Elongated flicks of eyeliner on the outer and inner corner of the eyes give you a sultry look that’s hard to let go of once you adopt it.

• No Makeup Makeup

If 2016 was the year for heavy makeup, minimalist and clean makeup have swiftly taken over since. As the conversation around skincare gets louder, people are eager to let their natural skin shine through in makeup. Products that merge the benefits of serums and foundation gives one an effortless, barely-there makeup look that’s perfect for everyday wear.

• Neon Eyeliners

Colour has had a huge role to play in makeup trends of recent years. While eyeliners of bold and striking (think pink, orange, green, etc) have also risen in popularity lately, we’re talking about neon eyeliners that have a thin line of white drawn over the coloured line to give a neon light effect. This look stands out immensely and is an upgrade when you start to tire of solid eyeliner shades.
