Everybody has their go-to makeup look, but there’s no reason to not experiment every once in a while. Elevating your makeup has never seemed easier with these tips that seem like a small change, but they pack a punch and are sure to completely transform your look. 

• Makeup Harmony

Quite a technical term, makeup harmony comes straight to us from the mouths of makeup artists. Makeup Harmony by definition means to match the colors used on your lips, eyes and the apples of the cheeks, or where your blush goes. While it may not always be possible to apply the same shade to all the three areas mentioned (bright yellow eyeshadow, blush and lipstick seem like a fun experiment but can only be used for daily wear by the exceptionally brave) choosing complementary or similar colors can create a cohesive look. 

• Experiment with Eyeliner

For most, a makeup look is never complete without a final stroke on the eyelids. While the classic wing will remain timeless and unbeatable, adding a few extra components to your eyeliner can be a fun way to switch up your look. Adding gem or graphic stickers, neon eyeliner, or elongating that stroke to draw a different design (graphic eyeliner) on your next night out is sure to elevate your entire look. 

• Ultimate Concealing

For those who can never get enough coverage with their concealer, this trick is for you. Applying the concealer, and then letting it rest for a few minutes, about one to three minutes, and then blending it into the skin will give you much more coverage than blending out the concealer immediately after applying. 

• Don’t Forget the Neck

Poor souls who have not yet realized the need to match your foundation to the shade of your neck have been the butt of several jokes in the makeup community for decades. Ensuring your foundation matches your neck is not just a makeup tip, it is absolutely essential to a put-together look. 

• Curl Them Lashes 

Get an eyelash curler and you won’t even need falsies anymore. The simple trick of curling your eyelashes and then making them last with a mascara is one you’ll adopt forever once you start using it. Since most people’s eyelashes seem straight or fall downwards, using a curler to lift them can wake up your entire face, giving your whole makeup look a new dimension without spending extra effort on false eyelashes.
